Mr P, Salisbury

Mr & Mrs P from Salisbury are well worthy of this showcase lawn. Set in a beautiful location on the edge of the River Avon, Lawntech have been caring for this lawn since 2011.

Lawntech’s comments about this lawn

The lawn was in poor condition with lots of weeds, moss, and thatch. We have carried out our annual lawn care programme since 2011 as well as carrying out scarifying and aeration. Mr P does a great job of mowing regularly to get the best from our annual lawn care programme. Great job Mr P!

This lawn also has another major challenge being right next to the river.  For most of the year it is the most picturesque garden but, in the winter, when the river level rises, parts of the lawn flood and can sometimes be underwater for weeks at a time, this causes damage and die-back to the lawn which needs attention in the spring.  Mr P is very good at repairing the worst affected patches, buying turf from our sister company www.thelawnstore.co.uk, he also carries out regular maintenance and repairs to the riverbank to keep the garden in ship-shape condition.  Lawntech can come in and do regular aeration to help the lawn to recover from soil compaction caused by the flood water and carry out direct drill seeding to deal with any thinning areas.  Direct drill seeding is done with a special machine that creates shallow grooves in the lawn surface and then drops the seed into the groove so that it has optimum soil contact and can germinate very quickly because it does not dry out on the surface.

Thank you, Mr P, for being such a great customer for over 13 years, let’s keep our fingers crossed for not too much waterlogging in the future.
