These are fast-moving, challenging times and with Coronavirus COVID-19 now having been declared a global pandemic, we letting you know of our plans to ensure the continued servicing of our clients’ lawns. We are highly conscious of the need to minimise contact with our clients as Lawntech’s technicians move around the areas they cover, whilst maintaining a high standard of customer care. To that end, our technicians are now working to a set of guidelines designed to limit contact with others.
For the foreseeable future, we have instructed our technicians to stay a safe distance from our clients. If you are at home at the time they visit, please stay indoors rather than engaging with them. They will not be knocking on the door but will be ‘phoning instead if there is anything they need to communicate. Please refrain from offering them food or drinks, as they would not wish to offend by declining your kind offer. If you are not there and they need to highlight anything regarding your lawn, they can shoot a short video and we will email a link to enable you to view it.
We very much value the contact our technicians have with you but feel that these are the right precautions to take in the current climate. We always maintain Personal Protection Equipment on our vans such as gloves, masks and spray suits so our technicians are already well placed to protect themselves and others. Also, they all carry hand sanitisers in their vans and will be using these after every call.
Our Business Continuity Plan will also enable the office staff to work from home, if required, ensuring that all our operations can continue without interruption so we would hope and anticipate that our services will continue seamlessly on all fronts. We would, however, ask for your patience if there are any delays in our responding to queries whilst we operate in these unusual conditions. Thank you for your co-operation. Q: STAYING IN TOUCH, How will you keep me informed?
A: Please continue to call or email us with any queries you may have. We shall continue to keep our clients informed with scheduled emails or telephone calls in advance of treatment visits, and immediately after them. As outlined above, we have a Continuity Plan in place. Should it become necessary, this plan will enable our office team to work remotely from home and keep all lines of communication open.
Q: WHAT WILL HAPPEN WHEN YOU COME TO TREAT MY LAWN?
A: For the foreseeable future, our technicians will not be knocking on our clients’ doors nor ringing doorbells. If they need to attract your attention for any reason, they will give you a call on their mobile ‘phones. We will continue to send our After Service Report emails, but the technicians will not be leaving paper copies or invoices for the time being.
Q: IF YOU ARE NOT LEAVING PAPER INVOICES, HOW CAN I PAY YOU?
A: We would ask you not to give your technician any payments in cash or cheque while these conditions prevail, but all our other payment methods are still available; Bank Transfer (BACS), via your own account on our Customer Assistant Website, or by telephone to the office with a Debit or Credit Card. Q: WHAT ABOUT ‘SELF-ISOLATION’ AND ‘SOCIAL DISTANCING’?
A: When we first became aware of COVID-19, we instructed our technicians to keep a 2 metre distance between themselves and everyone they encounter – clients or otherwise. We have been relieved to hear from many of our clients who have called to identify themselves as being ‘At Risk’. They have been self-isolating, and we have been pleased to play our part by ensuring our technicians avoid all contact with them as detailed above.
To reiterate our stance; Until we have received an official ‘All Clear’ from the UK Government, we strongly suggest that you stay indoors whenever our technicians are on your premises. They will communicate with you by ‘phone if there is anything they need to discuss. To reduce the risk still further, we will not be passing paperwork to our clients and will not be accepting cash or cheques from them.
