BASIS Lawn Assured

BASIS Lawn Assured

The BASIS Lawn Assured scheme is an independent auditing scheme for lawn care companies that aims to raise professional standards within the lawn care industry. It is a Government supported initiative and is likely to become the future standard for lawn care companies. To attain BASIS accreditation, a company must demonstrate that they are meeting specified requirements relating to the following areas:

  • Pesticide storage
  • Integrated management of weeds, pests and diseases
  • Staff training
  • Application equipment
  • Record Keeping

If a company is a member of the BASIS Lawn Assured scheme, you can be confident they demonstrate best practices in lawn care in a safe and sustainable way. Lawntech have been BASIS Lawn Assured for many years and recently passed our latest inspection which audited our vehicles, storage facilities and Health and Safety record.

The Amenity Standard

The Amenity Standard

There is growing public concern with the methods used for weed, pest and disease management. The Amenity Standard was launched in 2020 by the Amenity Forum as a way for companies to reassure the public that any work being completed in public spaces meet all legal requirements and that all staff are fully trained and certified.

Holders of the Amenity Standard are subject to an annual audit to ensure they are compliant with the scheme’s requirements.

If you see the Amenity Standard logo displayed by a professional lawn care company, you know they demonstrate best practices and meet the legal requirements for weed/ pest/ disease management in public spaces.

Lawntech are compliant with the Amenity Standard. You can check if a company is Amenity Standard compliant on their directory page below.

UK Lawn Care Association

UK Lawn Care Association

The UKLCA is a voluntary association created by independent UK lawncare operators who are committed to upholding best practices in lawn care.

By becoming a member of this association, a company is pledging to adhere to the highest standards and deliver an exceptional lawn care service. The association is made up of independent companies rather than franchises.

Lawntech have been members of the UKLCA since its inception, and over the years, our MD Jim Hewlett has been a member of the association’s committee multiple times.

Lawntech is viewed as one of the leaders of the industry by UKLCA members, and Jim can often be found giving advice and guidance to newer members as well as being heavily involved in the forward direction of the Association.

If you are employing or paying someone to apply products to your lawn, they must be registered to comply with this new legislation, even if they are using commercially available products such as those purchased from a garden centre. Lawntech are registered and comply fully with UK legislation regarding the use of these products.
