Racket sports played on a natural grass court goes as far back as 1859 but the invention of the lawn mower in Britain in 1830 is believed to be the catalyst for grass courts.  Lawn Tennis became popular in Victorian days when ladies and gentlemen played tennis on the manor house lawn. Many large old houses in the UK still have evidence of beautiful historic tennis courts, some of which have been returned to their former glory and other that have gone back to nature or are just used as a regular lawn.

Maintaining a grass court at a private home, sports club or hotel venue requires special care to ensure the court plays well and that the grass surface remains healthy throughout the stress, strain and high wear of the playing season.

Lawntech can provide a bespoke lawn treatment programme to maintain your grass tennis court or Badminton Court. This usually consists of an annual treatment programme of nutrient, weed control and moss control along with mechanical treatments at crucial times of the year to help the court recover from wear and tear.

Our customers usually carry out the daily maintenance tasks such as mowing, irrigation and regular manicuring of the playing surface, but sometimes struggle to have the time or resources to do the specialist treatments. Lawntech can provide a service to carry out those specialist treatments to help keep the playing surface in great condition.
