As winter draws to a close and the start of spring is now well within sight, it’s great to see our clients lawns have been thriving this season following last autumn’s lawn renovations.

The last couple of years have had our nation spending much more time at home, utilising our outdoor spaces certainly much more than we may have done previously. Even with restrictions eased last summer in comparison to the previous year, it’s no surprise that we have adapted to life’s simple pleasures and found ways to make the most of our home and gardens.

With our lawns having seen much more use than before, this had certainly resulted in lawns facing greater compaction and wear-and-tear, so our clients were seeking our specialist help at Lawntech to repair their tired and stressed-looking lawns. Our technician’s hard work and expertise and our clients dedication and efforts to maintain their healthy lawns, meant we were able to ensure our clients lawns were treated with our Lawn Renovation Package in early autumn before ground temperatures dropped too cool for the new seed to germinate during winter.

What does our Lawn Renovation Package involve?

At Lawntech, our method is to the hit the lawn harder than most during a Lawn Renovation, so it is perfectly normal for the recovery process to take a little while longer for the lawn to re-establish itself. Whilst it may be tempting to opt for a speedier recovery, at Lawntech, we know the key to a stronger, healthier lawn with longer-lasting results is with our skilful approach.

Our Lawn Renovation Package includes the following 3 methods;

Scarification

The build-up of excess thatch is harmful to your lawn. This can cause the quality of the lawn to deteriorate over-time, so it is important to scarify your lawn and remove this thatch. The results are rewarding and can make it much easier to maintain your lawn in the future.

Aeration

To relieve compaction in the lawn caused by heavy foot traffic. This allows oxygen, nutrients, and water to penetrate the rootzone. Aeration provides the ideal seed bed for over-seeding.

Over-seeding

Tired lawns require a certain amount of re-generation. Scarification and Aeration provide the perfect conditions for new seed to develop successfully.

When is a Lawn Renovation best carried out?

To ensure recovery, Lawn Renovations are carried out in early autumn before our lawns go dormant for the winter. This allows the seed to germinate whilst the soil temperatures are still warm enough and have the right amount of moisture. Once germinated, the seed can then slowly establish during the winter months so as spring now approaches, our technicians will be visiting our clients and checking their lawns progress and recovery following their autumn renovations.

During visits to our clients this winter to apply their Winter Moss treatment as part of our Annual Lawn Care Programme, we have seen some beautiful renovation recoveries well and truly underway.
