Prospective clients often ask us about the equipment we might be intending to use when we treat their lawns. Sometimes they’re asking because our website and other promotional material shows a variety of our larger kit, which is certainly impressive but may not be appropriate on smaller lawns or where access is limited. Fear not! We pride ourselves on having not only the best equipment that money can buy, but also the widest possible range of options to ensure we can deliver the highest quality lawn care to all our clients – no matter how large or small their lawn may be. All of the equipment shown here can be moved through a standard-width gateway, which in the UK is 0.9 metres or 3 feet.
In our blog post of 6th April this year we looked at the gear which we use on the larger lawns we service, but this time we’re focusing on the kit which keeps all our other lawns in great shape. Hopefully this will illustrate that while we are indeed large lawn specialists, we’re not all about the massive country estates and golf courses. Every lawn we look after is equally important to us, no matter its size.
SMALL LAWN SCARIFIERS
Like all the equipment featured in this post, our fleet of smaller Scarifiers will fit through a standard-width gate.
In an ideal world, we would look to scarify every lawn with one of our large, ride-on scarifiers as seen in that earlier blog post. However, we are more than happy to offer scarifying to all our clients, irrespective of the size of their lawns. For those situations where access may be limited or the size of the lawn itself makes the large equipment inappropriate, we have a range of machinery available which is designed to pass through tighter entrances. Removing the thatch from a lawn is both time-consuming and physically taxing, and anyone who has tried scarifying by hand (with a rake or similar device) will have found that being able to do the job mechanically is a much more palatable alternative. We are proud to have an unmatched inventory of these machines to help us care for every size, shape and situation of lawn. Not just the big ones!
SMALL LAWN AERATORS
No lawn is too small for Lawntech’s fleet of compact machinery, in this case one of our aerators.
In the same way that our range of equipment enables us to scarify a small lawn as thoroughly as a large one, so too are we able to Aerate small lawns just as effectively with our range of compact Aerator machines. We take the investment we make in these tools just as seriously as we do their bigger brothers as quality, reliability and longevity are equally important regardless of lawn size. These chunky little guys are every bit as robust as their large-lawn counterparts and just as capable of delivering the same top-quality results. They also enable us to offer the same range of hollow, solid or slit-tined aeration we’re able to apply to the big lawns.
SMALL LAWN OVER-SEEDERS – DIRECT-DRILL AND BROADCAST
Direct-Drill Over-seeding is now available for smaller lawns as well as larger ones, courtesy of Lawntech’s new fleet of compact Direct-Drill Over-seeders.
Whatever the conditions demand, Lawntech has the kit to deliver the right amount of seed to every part of your lawn. This is one of our pedestrian Broadcast Over-seeders in action.
Lawntech has the capability to carry out Over-seeding by either Direct-Drill or Broadcast methods, regardless of the size of the lawn. We have now added a fleet of compact Direct-Drill Over-seeders to our roster, as seen in the first of the images immediately above. This enables us to offer Direct-Drill Over-seeding to most of our clients, where previously our tractor-mounted apparatus needed wider access to a lawn. With the addition of these machines, we can now offer our clients a choice of these two excellent alternatives.
SMALL LAWN TREATMENT SPRAYERS
Spraying liquid treatments on smaller areas with one of Lawntech’s pedestrian sprayers.
While we have self-propelled treatment sprayers for the large lawns and sports grounds which we service, these use a 3-metre wide boom to apply liquid treatments like nutrients, herbicide or moss control. These machines are fabulous for those large lawn areas but are obviously not practical for use elsewhere. This is where our knapsack sprayers come into their own, as wherever our technician can walk, the sprayer can go with him. The more precise control of the knapsack sprayers also makes them more accurate, so the treatments can be applied exactly where they are needed most.
