Lawn Fertiliser Treatment Aftercare Advice

At Lawntech, we provide a balanced and sustainable nutrient diet for your lawn. These essential nutrients enhance grass health, promote growth, improve colour, and increase resistance against lawn diseases such as Red Thread for a healthy, vibrant lawn.

Applying fertiliser treatment

The fertiliser treatment applied to your lawn is an organic-based fertiliser that will work with the soil to help unlock undigested organic matter and assist in the reduction of thatch and soil compaction to create a green and healthy sward.

With our fertiliser treatment applied at the appropriate times throughout the year, your lawn will receive the nutrients it needs for optimal plant health. We extensively test our organic-based fertilisers, so we know they are providing the very best results for your lawn and are improving the soil environment to ensure sustainability. You can watch our video which details more information regarding our research here.

Can I walk on my lawn after fertiliser treatment has been applied?

Yes, it is fine to walk on your lawn after fertiliser treatment has been applied.

Can my pets use the lawn after fertiliser treatment has been applied?

At Lawntech, we use organic-based fertiliser applied in granular form which poses no risk to pets or wildlife, so it is fine for your pets to use the lawn after this treatment has been applied.

Can I water my lawn after fertiliser treatment has been applied?

The fertiliser product will not release until moisture is received, so it is fine to carry out your usual watering practice following this treatment. That said, it is not harmful for the product to sit and wait for rain, as once it receives rainfall it will be watered into your lawn naturally. Our organic-based fertiliser is drought safe.

Can I mow my lawn after fertiliser treatment has been applied?

Do not mow your lawn for 48 hours after your fertiliser treatment has been applied.

Why can’t I see the fertiliser that has been applied to my lawn?

Our fertiliser treatment is a non-plastic-coated, organic-based product without unnecessary processed components. This makes the product harder to see in your lawn but much better for both your lawn and the environment. Your technician will also do as best as he can to blow the product off patios and hard surfaces. Rest assured, you will see the effects as the fertiliser breaks down and your lawn begins to green up.

How long does it take to see the effect of the fertiliser treatment?

This can take a couple of weeks to see the effect. If there is dry weather and there hasn’t been any rainfall, we recommend watering the product in.

Can I top up the treatment with my own fertiliser product?

No, once the fertiliser treatment has been applied, do not treat your lawn as this can over-feed and scorch your lawn. As part of our annual lawn care treatment programme, your technician will be visiting at the next appropriate time of the year to apply fertiliser treatment.

Will the fertiliser also kill weeds and moss in my lawn?

Our fertiliser product is a stand-alone treatment, we do not use a combined product. Herbicide and moss treatments are carried out separately as part of our treatment programme.

Does the fertiliser smell?

Occasionally in dry and warm conditions, if the fertiliser product has not been watered into the lawn there may be an aroma, however, this will lessen as the product receives moisture and absorbs into the soil.

My lawn is growing fast, will the fertiliser treatment encourage excessive growth?

At Lawntech, we don’t use high-nitrogen products which would cause a quick, excessive growth spurt. Instead, we work in harmony with nature so a healthy lawn being fed well will encourage a natural, healthy growth. We use a slower-release fertiliser product to last your lawn between visits and our fertiliser products are developed to be used in the season in which they are applied.
