The right balance of nutrients is a key ingredient to a healthy lawn. Applying a fertiliser at the right time of year starting in Spring, will feed your lawn the nutrients it needs to increase vigour and strengthen your grass.
However, it’s important to remember that anyone can apply a cheap nitrogen fertiliser to their lawn, but this doesn’t mean it will be beneficial. It is essential to apply products which are relatively low in nitrogen and contain nutrients and organisms which work with the soil to unlock the full potential of your lawn.

Get control of weeds
Weeds can be invasive and faster growing than grass plants. Some have broad leaves which, if left untreated, can choke the lawn, and others creep which ends up spreading across your whole lawn. Treating weeds in early summer (their prime growing season) with a selective herbicide, will keep weeds under control and prevent them from invading your manicured lawn.

Good lawn irrigation
Like any plant, your lawn needs water to survive so no matter how much love and care we give to our lawn, without a sufficient amount of water, your lawn will suffer. We recommend watering 1 or 2 times a week in the evening or early morning when the temperatures are cooler and less of the moisture will be lost to the sun or wind.
There are various high-tech gadgets and irrigation systems on the market, but given that our UK climate is steady, keeping on top of the watering with a hose or sprinkler should be sufficient.
